We save a private receipt after you submit so you can check status here. Admin review still happens on our side — we’ll email you when it goes live.
Quick rules: original work only · browser-first · no malware · remixed classics OK if code & art are yours · we may decline for quality/fit · request removal anytime.
How publishing works
Plain-English guide for you and for game makers. Nothing technical required to understand the idea.
What is a “playable link”?
It’s just a normal website address where someone can open the game in a browser and play it right away — no App Store, no install.
Good examples
• https://yourname.itch.io/neon-hopper (itch.io page with a web game)
• https://yourname.github.io/my-game/ (GitHub Pages)
• https://my-game.netlify.app (or similar free host)
• A public Google Drive / Dropbox link to a .zip of the game files
Not enough by itself
• Only a video of the game
• “I’ll send files later” with no link
• A private link only you can open
• A store page that only sells a download with no browser play
How do I (or a friend) make a playable link?
Build the game for web — HTML5 / JavaScript / WebGL that runs in Chrome, Safari, etc.
Upload it somewhere free — easiest for beginners:
itch.io → create a project → upload the game → turn on “This file will be played in the browser”
GitHub Pages or Netlify if you have a folder of HTML/JS files
Copy the https:// address from the browser bar and paste it into Playable link on this form.
If the game only exists as files on your computer, zip the folder, upload the zip to Drive, set sharing to “anyone with the link”, and paste that link. We’ll still need to review it before hosting.
What does each field mean?
Your name — who made it (or studio name).
Email — so we can reply if we need a fix or when it’s live. (No Discord needed.)
Game title — what players will see on the card.
Playable link — where we can try the game (see above).
One-line pitch — e.g. “Hold to fly through a narrowing spike gate.”
Rights checkbox — you must own the game (or have permission). No ripped games from other portals.
Changes checkbox — you allow us to lightly adapt the game for our site (fit, polish, mobile) while you keep ownership.
What happens after Submit?
Your form goes into our private submissions inbox (not public).
We open the link and play-test (desktop + phone when we can).
If it fits the archive, we host a copy on gamearchive.com (example: /neonhopper), add a homepage card, and email you.
If something’s wrong (broken link, needs a smaller file, etc.), we email you.
Important: the form does not automatically put the game live. That’s intentional — we review first so random or unsafe links never get dropped straight onto the site.
What if I only have an idea, not a game?
Use the home page Comments box instead — ideas and bugs go there. This Publish form is for a game you can already open and play.
Tips for a smooth yes
Works in a normal browser, ideally on phone too
Not huge (smaller is better; big Unity WebGL can be hard)
Original work (or a remixed classic with your code/art)
No malware, no stolen assets, no account wall to try the game
